FAQ
We have put together some of the most common questions, but if you're still in doubt, feel free to reach out to us.
The main difference between granite and quartz is that granite are naturals stone, and quartz are man- made. Granite being a natural stone is naturally more porous than quartz which means it can absorb liquids in the event of a spill – because of that it needs to be sealed at least once or twice a year. Quartz is an engineered stone and non-porous – doesn’t require sealing – it’s low maintenance and easy to clean. However, one disadvantage to quartz is that it is heat resistance, not heat proof.
Whether you have a natural stone, porcelain, or quartz. We highly recommend that you use products that either specific made for that material or products that are not chemical.
For Natural stones you should seal the stone countertop every 6-12 months to avoid staining.
We recommend you do the 30 minutes test: drop a small amount of water on top of the countertop and wait 30 minutes, if after 30 minutes the stone absorbed the water drop and that area is darker than the rest of the countertop, we recommend the countertop to be resealed.
The countertop installation needs to be done before the tile backsplash installation. The countertop must be precisely positioned, whereas a backsplash has more leeway.
Natural stores. Quartz is more like to sun bleach and fade (this is not an issue for indoor because they are not as frequently exposed….)
Depends…. Natural Stones and Quartz are often priced in a different manner.
Natural stones are more abundant and busier to be cheaper than quartz.
However, that can be flipped if you look a natural stone with more patterns when compared to simpler quartz color.
The typical turnaround time for the entire process, from measuring to fabrication, to delivery takes anywhere from 7 to 10 day. We also have options to have to have it done in 2-4 days for expedite service fee.
The average kitchen countertops installation takes between 2 to 7 hours, depending on the size of the kitchen and how complex the design is, and if existing kitchen needs to be removed. Countertops with more cut-outs will take longer to install. This is only the installation process, it doesn’t consider time for creating a countertop template, fabricating, or delivery.
